Matt Fogarty, Terryglass
Matt Fogarty has has acquired a vast knowledge of trees over the last 30 years and while many would be thinking of retiring and putting their feet up he has planted a further 7 acres of oak and despite his age (77 next birthday) he has further additions planned.
At a recent Open day on his tree farm and nursery in Ballinderry Co. Tipperary, he showed the visitors his splendid specimens of Redwoods, Fir and a wide variety of Broadleaf species. Matts tree farm and Nursery are now well established, his trees can be seen in many Hotels, Golf Clubs, Gardens etc and as well as growing the trees he will give advice on how to plant them and where! In 1995 he won the All-Ireland Irish forestry award he also won it again in 2000, and this year he won the Biodiversity award for Munster.

Matt also still finds time to run an Annual Dance in Terryglass Hall for various causes, some of the benefactors were the Tipperary Hospice, Galway Hospice, and St. Lukes in Dublin. This year he raised over €3500 for a local missionary priest, Fr. John Molloy, who is based in Ecuador, South America.

If you are thinking of planting one tree or any number of trees you are always welcome at Matt Fogarty's Nursery Ballinderry.
