Portumna Singer / Songwriter Joe Casey
Have you ever felt like being guided down an unseen road by an unseen force? That you keep having experiences that feel like road signs? In many ways, this is what has driven Joe Casey to record his debut album 'This Road' which is due for release on the 2nd of December 2013.

Influenced by various styles and genres Joe Casey's debut album is a fresh blend of musical ingredients with a strong Irish accent. It has been recorded with musicians he has met at different crossroads in his life and he invites you to join him on this musical journey.

Growing up in a family of musicians, Joe was immersed in music from an early age. He has been playing guitar, piano and singing since he was a child and has been writing songs and poetry for nearly as long.

Over the last 15 years you may have heard him solo, accompanied only by his guitar or with a troupe of traditional musicians from Ballyvaughen to Bangkok or from New York to Newbridge. He played support with some of Ireland's great songwriters including Mick Hanly and Luka Bloom. He was also a finalist in the 2013 Christie Hennessy Song Competition.

Joe will launch his new album with a special concert in the beautiful setting of the Church of Ireland in Portumna on Friday 29th of November followed by dates around the country. For more information see www.joecasey.ie.
