Walk/Cycle in Forest Park
Portumna Primary Parents Association are organising a family walk/cycle in Portumna Forest Park on Sunday 13th April at 2:30pm. Each pupil in St. Brendan's has received a sponsorship form and we hope that all pupils and their families will participate on the day. All money raised is for the 'Lift of to Literacy' reading programme, which is currently being rolled out in the school! Each pupil's returned sponsorship cards will be placed into a draw for great prizes including a Family Pass to Tayto Park and a Pallas Karting Voucher. There will also be Treasure Hunts and an Eater Egg raffle on the day, so it should be a fun family afternoon for all.

Lorrha National School
We continue to promote reading throughout the school and last week pupils enjoyed a Book Fair event which was held throughout the week. The pupils had a great time browsing and picking their own favourite book, which arrived in mobile bookcases, and the school also benefited by receiving free books. This proved to be a successful literacy event indeed and we extend thanks to the parents who came and browsed and bought books to share with their children. Research has shown that reading at home can help them do much better at school – and it’s a great way to share quality time too. We are still accepting applications for the 2014/15 school year. Parents may call the school on (090) 9747295 or email luanaofa@eircom.net. You can also view our school web site www.lorrhans.ie. where you can download an application form.
