Sister Phyllis Ronan - Remembrance Mass
A Remembrance Mass was celebrated in Portumna Day Centre on Friday 16 May for Sister Phyllis Ronan Mollin. Fr Sean Lyons and her brother Fr. Matty concelebrated the mass. In attendance were her two sisters: Patricia and Tess, representatives from the HSE, Sisters of Mercy, work colleagues and a large number of neighbours and friends.

Many tributes were paid to Sister Ronan for her work and dedication and her contribution to the Day Centre and in the Community as a Public Health Nurse. The lovely tune “Inis Eir” was played during the mass, which reflected on her time as a nurse working on the Aran Islands. The congregating sang “The Queen of the May” at the end of the mass, bringing closure to the wonderful Sr. Ronan’s life.
