A big thank you to all the people who turned out in huge numbers to support our fundraiser and dancers in the Shearwater Hotel on Saturday night last. Thanks to Stephanie Power and Alice Larkin who directed and choreographed the event so professionally. Thanks to the thirty three dancers who gave of their time to put in such outstanding performances and even though there was only one winner on the night they were all winners to turn out such amazing performances. They spend endless hours training which commenced last January but looking at them on Saturday night you would think they were at it all their lives. Thanks to the judges Imelda Matthews, Joe Canning and Damien Hayes. The Master of Ceremonies Ollie Canning & Kevin Hayes as they added a special touch to the proceedings and will be affectionately known as the new Ant and Dec.
The club would like to acknowledge the financial support given by their sponsors who supported the dancers and to the people who gave donations and to everyone who supported the night. Thanks to Joe Keane clubs Pro for all the work he put in over the past few weeks. A special word of thanks to Al & Noreen Hayes the clubs main sponsor and to Donie & Yvonne O Meara who Sponsored Gotta Dance. Thanks to the finance committee who spent endless hours over the past few weeks working hard to make the night such a success and we are delighted to say succeeded. It was a real Community Night which brought young and old together. Hopefully the club will have a good year both on and off the field.
The Senior hurling team drew with Leitrim /Kilnademna in the second round of the league on a score line 0-14 a piece. They play Pearse’s in the next round on Sunday.
