Redwood National School
Redwood N.S. Halloween Camp: Halloween Camp in Redwood N.S. for 3-10 year olds. Running Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th October from 9.30am until 2.00 pm. Camp will be Halloween themed - Come in costume! Halloween art & craft, cookery, computers - blogging, i-pads, learning through play and lots and lots of spooky fun! €15 per day. Defibrillator Course: A Defibrillator training course will take place in Redwood NS on Wednesday, 21st October at 7.00pm. Anyone that has requested training is already booked in. Fashion Show
Fashion Show in Boula Hall on Friday 16 October at 8pm. Cheese and wine reception at 7.30pm. Exhibiting stalls and raffle. Portion of the proceeds will be donated to Portumna Day Care Centre. Tickets €10 available from Ladies Day and All Occasions Boutiques, Portumna Day Care Centre or any member of the Boula Development Committee.


The Artist's Way Workshop

Portumna Community School 25 Anniversary
Portumna Community School is this year celebrating the 25th anniversary of its foundation and are currently surveying past pupils with a view to learning of their life journeys since leaving school. Tug of War Team Success
The boathouse ladies Tug of war team won the ballinasloe competition on Friday night. This is probably the biggest Road competition in the country so it is an unbelievable achievement. The team is made up of Emer Madden, Noleen Fogarty, Gina Molloy, Elaine Fitzpatrick, Christina Hoary, Louise Nibb, Lisa Moran and Mary Hearn.


Davitts Camogie Club
The u11 team had a 3.5 to 3.1 victory over Ardrahan in the semi final and now look forward to the county final.
We are holding a collection of unwanted clothes, shoes, bed linen, mobile phones, laptops on Saturday 31st October. All contributions are greatly appreciated.
The club will hold its AGM on Friday 6th November at 8pm in Duniry community centre.


Handbag Sale - Galway Hospice Fundraiser
Preloved handbags needed in aid of Galway Hospice. Handbag sale on Friday 23rd October 8pm - 10pm in Tiernascragh Community Hall. Mucky Runners Obstacle Course 2015
Bank Holiday Monday 26th of October. Portumna Forest Park. Fun Mucky Obstacle Course for everyone aged 6yrs to 600yrs! Mucky Ducks Race 6yrs to 11yrs race starts @ 12.30. Mucky Runners Race (Juniors/Adults/Teams) Race starts @ 1.30pm. Registration on the day from 10am to 12 sharp in Forest Car Park. Halloween Family Festival at Slieve Aughty Riding Centre
It’s a spooky time at Slieve Aughty during the Halloween Festival, with ghosts and goblins galore, haunted houses, Halloween tricks and treats, scary stories, costumes and face painting, horses and ponies to pet and ride, arts and crafts and the Howl-o-Ween Charity Ride. The AGM will be held on Wednesday 28 October in Pod Umna Village Starting at 7.30pm all welcome.


Killimor GAA
Last week’s lotto numbers were 2, 8, 22 and 27. The jackpot was €3,700. Last week’s 5 lucky dip winners (€20) were Mairead Raftery, Josie Morrissey, Pauline McEvoy, Joe McLearn and Micheal Dervan Jnr. Next week's jackpot is €3,800 which will be held in Kirwan’s.


Rugby Pitch Development
Portumna Rugby Pitch Development - Monster Auction on Sunday 1st November at 12.30pm in Portumna Mart. Items such as Turf, Timber, Animal Feedstuffs, Electrical Goods and much more will be available on the day. All proceeds are going towards the development of new playing facilities for everyone in the wider community to enjoy. Please come along and support.
