Cllr Rabbitte's Loughrea Office
Cllr Anne Rabbitte opened her new office in Loughrea on Friday 13 November. Party Leader Micheál Martin and Fr. Brendan Lawless P.P. of Portumna officially opened it. Micheál Martins attendance at the launch was an endorsement of Anne Rabbitte as the Fianna Fail candidate for Galway East. He went on to say that she was an exceptional candidate and Fianna Fail was fortunate to have her on the ticket. Members of the CDC, Cllrs past and present and former TD`s were also in attendance.
Ned Burns, the director of elections for Anne’s campaign thanked the capacity crowd who attended on a very miserable wintery day. The large turnout on the day was a testament to Anne Rabbitte’s ability and the professional way that her campaign is being run in the lead up to the general election. The opening of the Loughrea office coincided with the launch of her general election campaign. Anne went on to say that; "With the opening of an office in Loughrea the electorate are now fully aware that I am putting myself out there to represent all of South Galway, to give my time and energy to improving the quality of life for others. I am 20 minutes from Gort, Athenry, Portumna and just a little more to Kinvara and Ballinderrin, a short hop from Craughwell, New Inn, Woodford, Ballinakill and Kilrickle”.
The office will be open initially every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; this will be extended to include that rest of the week when the election is called. It will be her main base for the entire campaign. Anne was delighted to be joined by family and friends from Abbeyknockmoy and Kilskeagh. Micheál Martin was very complimentary of the organization in East Galway and how diligent and hard working they are. He also remembered the recent passing of Frank Corcoran who played a pivotal role in FF East Galway.
