Remembrance Service:

For parents who have suffered a bereavement through the death of their children, miscarriage or stillbirth.

On Friday 1st Feb at 7.30pm in the Hospital chapel, Portiuncula, Ballinasloe.

Weekly Offertory Collection:

For last weekend was €1653.55.

Eucharistic Adoration:

Every Friday Eve from 6pm to 7.30pm during Lent.

We will be praying for our parish and all the families in it on these dates. Feb 8th -22nd -29th  and Mar 7th – 14th – 20th.


Cura Collection:

Thanks to all who contributed.


First Friday Calls:

Fr. Lawless will visit the sick and housebound on the 1st Feb.


2nd Feb- Candlemas Day:

People are encouraged to bring candles to the church.


Lenten Station 2008:

Will commence on the Monday  after Ash Wed (11th Feb) and usually finish before holy week ( 14th Mar ).

Please consider if you are willing to become a reader at mass, a Minister of the Eucharist. A Collector in church, a member of the Alter Society. Please write your name and Put it in the basket at offertory collection or hand it into the Parish Office. All ages welcome& needed- female and male.


An Gairdin: Organic Horticulture/Gardening Courses:

Beginning on the first Week in Feb. The course consists of one day each month for 7 months. It is a Practical course and covers all aspects of Organic Growing. For more information Contact  An Gairdin at 090 9741689.


Boula Development Committee Meeting:

Portumna Community School:

Will hold an Information Evening and Enrolment for First Years on Tuesday 29th Jan from 7pm in the school. Parents and students are invited to attend.


Na Calai- Community Newsletter:

Are in the process of putting together a Community Newsletter. We would like to invite your group to submit a small piece( 5-6 lines) about your organization i.e. your activities, achievements, up coming events etc. The newsletter will be distributed to all the parishes in South East Galway.
