Confirmation:
Congratulations to the young people who received confirmation last Sunday. Thanks to the parents, teachers and all who helped out in the preparations. It was a special day in the life of our community.

Tidy Towns:
A group of people have got together in an effort to keep our community neat and clean and tidy. Volunteers are required on Wednesdays at 7.30pm and Saturdays at 10am. Assembly point is the square in Portumna. Keep our town and parish clean: An appeal to Restaurants/ Fast food outlets and commercial businesses to do a tidy up regularly in the vicinity of their premises and shop fronts ( it is the law ) also an appeal to all householders to repair broken windows, mow the lawn, weeds to be destroyed, pathway to be cleaned, repair broken galvanize doors and gates, hedges to be trimed, flower beds to be re-juvenated, derelict buildings to be tidied up etc. Dogs and animals to be kept under effectual control, no washing of dogs in the river or lake. Lets all play our part and make our town and parish beautiful. United we stand.
Irish Blood Transfusion Service:
Thanks to all who donated blood on the 23rd April 2008 In the Shannon Oaks Hotel, Portumna. The amount of blood collected was 101 pints.
