Priests Harvest Collection:

This Sunday 28th Sept. Only one basket that weekend.

All are invited to the Alter for a special blessing as they make their Harvest Contribution.


First Friday Calls:

Fr. Lawless will visit the sick and housebound on Friday 3rd Oct.


1st Eucharist:

There will be a meeting for the parents of 1st holy communion children on Thursday 2nd Oct at 8.30pm in the nun’s chapel.

All parents are expected to attend.


Mission Awareness:

The Franciscan’s will be visiting this weekend 28th Sept to preach at all masses on Mission Awareness. “The Franciscan Brothers were founded in Galway in the early 1800’s to work with the rural poor of the west of Ireland.

They were involved in agricultural development, secular and religious education and during the Great Famine in food procurement and distribution.

They have a mission in Kenya where they live and work with the very poor.

They are involved in schools, and agricultural college, a polytechnic school, food and seed distribution etc.

Darcy of iGo Home comes to Portumna:

Fergal Darcy, the voice of i102-104 is hosting a 10 week series of youth drama evenings for teenagers. Starting at 8pm on Oct 1st  in Portumna Town Hall. Contact 086-3196159 before 6pm for further information and secure a place. Numbers are limited.


National Trails Day:

Family fun on the trails, Portumna Forest Park at 2pm on Sun 28th Oct. Children’s Treasure Hunt, Orienteering, Guided walk led by Joe Canning for wheelchair users and those with less mobility .Guided cycle on new trails- mountain bike and helmet needed. All children must be accompanied at this event. Face painting, photographic competition. Bring a picnic.


St. Dypmna’s  Sp. School –Shannon Rd:

Credit Union Car Draw:

Portumna & District Credit Union have launched a car draw for all eligible members. All members have received brochures in the post last week. If any member did not receive one they are available in the credit union office.


Local Bus to Athlone:
