Evening prayer for the conclusion of the year pf St. Paul with Pope Benedict XV1 on E.W.T.N live on the 28th June at 16.00 hrs. Solemnity of the feast of Saints Peter & Paul with the Franciscans live on the 27th June at 13.00 hrs on E.W.T.N.
The year for Priests- 19th June 2009 to 19th June 2010
The year should provide a welcome opportunity for the entire church, priests and people to reflect on the role of priesthood and responsibility we all share for promoting and fostering the unique vocation of the priest.

Portumna Social Services Committee
Would like to thank most sincerely all who contributed in any way to make the fundraising golf classic such a huge success. It can now watch with confidence rather than trepidation the work on the extension to the day care centre which commenced on Monday 15th June. A big thank you to each and everyone.
Stroke Support Group
Next meeting on Wed 24th June at 7pm in the Health Centre, Ballinasloe. The meeting topic has been changed, as now we are going to have a focus group meeting on your stroke services and how you would like to see this service develop in the future. We encourage all stroke survivors, their families, carers & friends to attend. Anybody in the community with an interest is also welcome.
Portumna GAA Club
Would like to welcome the Naas u/14 team and their mentors to Portumna town for the weekend. This is a great opportunity for all involved as Feile na nGael is the national festival of hurling for boys under 14 yrs and is based on the GAA club grounds. Thanks to all the families who are hosting these young boys and to all involved in making this a memorable weekend.
