Pilgrimage to Oberammergan
With tour to Innsbruck and the Fairytale Castle of Bavoria. The world famous passion play held every 10 years. Monday 16th Aug 2010. It is a 9 day trip.
Special day of prayer in Knock Shrine
On Saturday 4th July in honour of the blessed Alexandrina of Balasar. Concluding with Mass at 3.15pm.
The Year of Vocation
An initiative of the catholic church in Ireland it began on Vocatious Sunday 13th April 2008 and concluded on Vocatious Sunday 3rd May 2009.
The Year of St. Paul- 23rd June 2008 to 29th June 2009
Evening prayer for the conclusion of the year pf St. Paul with Pope Benedict XV1 on E.W.T.N live on the 28th June at 16.00 hrs. Solemnity of the feast of Saints Peter & Paul with the Franciscans live on the 27th June at 13.00 hrs on E.W.T.N.
The year for Priests- 19th June 2009 to 19th June 2010
The year should provide a welcome opportunity for the entire church, priests and people to reflect on the role of priesthood and responsibility we all share for promoting and fostering the unique vocation of the priest.
Portumna Tidy Towns
Well done and thanks to everyone who continues to keep outside their premises or homes clean & tidy particularly now that we are in the busy tourist season. Clean-ups will continue during the summer months so your help would always be appreciated. Thanks to all involved. Please contact any of the committee for further information.
Fas- Sliabh Aughty Project
Finishes on the 7th Aug 2009. A new project is sanctioned in a roll-over situation starting on the 10th Aug. Applications: Contact the parish office on 090-9741092.
Irish Water Safety
Portumna Water Safety week on Lough Derg Lake Shore Pool from the 6th July to 11th July. 10am-12pm, 2pm – 4pm & 7pm- 9pm. Registration on Monday 6th July from 10am. Fee €10. Contact Life Guard Veronica Burke at 090-9676383.
Children’s Chess Camp (Age 6- 16)
